She tries to tell him that co-opting Christmas is a terrible idea, but he's too wrapped up in his enthusiasm to listen. The evil scientist must whip up some reindeer, Halloweentown's top trick-or-treaters are to kidnap Sandy Claws, and Sally's task is to make Jack a red Santa suit. Then he announces that they're taking over Christmas and starts assigning jobs. His people don't seem very impressed, so to draw them in, he makes some elements of Christmas - including "Sandy Claws" ( Edward Ivory) - sound scary. Back in Halloweentown Jack calls a town meeting, where he describes what he saw in Christmastown. Jack is curious about everything he sees there, but finds it all delightful and wants to be part of it. Jack opens the Christmas door and they're sucked in, landing in Christmastown. They come upon a strange circle of trees, each with a door representing a holiday. (Sally was created by Halloweentown's evil scientist ( William Hickey), who keeps her locked up except when she knocks him out by slipping deadly nightshade in his soup.) After pondering his ennui in a cemetery (disturbing Sally, who's replenishing her supply of deadly nightshade), Jack takes his ghostly dog Zero for a walk in the woods. The missing something might well be Sally ( Catherine O'Hara), an animated rag doll who yearns for Jack, but he doesn't notice. But he receives the adulation of Halloweentown with no enthusiasm - something is missing from Jack's life and he's tired of doing the same old Halloween thing year after year.

They embrace their future together and share true love's first kiss.Pumpkin king Jack Skellington (speaking voice Chris Sarandon, singing Danny Elfman), an elegantly attenuated skeleton, has delivered another scary Halloween. Sally responds and shows that she feels the same about him. He sings to her very sweetly and tells her how he feels about her. Jack follows her, having realized he's loved her all along. They all return to Halloween town, it starts to snow and Sally walks to the Spiral hill. Jack is about to tell her how he feels about her, when the Mayor, Lock, Shock and Barrel suddenly burst in to rescue them. Jack later finds them, fights Oogie Boogie and defeats him. Sally tries to liberate Santa, using her leg as bait but fails and gets captured herself. Later, when Jack has left, Sally hears the news of the military being called in to stop Jack, and she resolves to go and find Santa Claus, discovering him in Oogie's lair. Yet, Sally's plan doesn't work, because of Zero's glowing nose. On Christmas Eve as Jack is about to set off, Sally pours fog juice into the town square fountain, creating a thick-as-jellied-brains fog all around, grounding Jack. When she tells of this to Jack, he fails to take the warning seriously. Afterwards, Sally plucks the petals off a forget-me-not, which then transforms before her eyes into a miniature Christmas tree and suddenly bursts into flames: a premonition of things to come. Sally gives the basket to Jack, but runs away due to her immense bashfulness. Unable to remain in captivity any longer, Sally puts some food and drink in a basket and lowers it onto the ground, and jumps out after it. She goes back home to the lab again and the Doctor locks Sally in her bedroom. She hears about the town meeting after Jack returns to town and poisons the doctor again before leaving to go to the town meeting where Jack tells about his experiences in the land of Christmas. She then follows Jack all the way to Spiral Hill, listening to his song. To escape, she pulls the thread on her arm and leaves it behind dismembered, as she runs off. After the Halloween celebration, the Doctor catches her and tries to drag her back to the lab. Sally has barely any freedom, although she frequently runs away from Doctor Finklestein, her creator. Sally is the love interest of Jack Skellington from the Tim Burton film, The Nightmare Before Christmas.
